Geological Summary
Jurassic granodiorite is unconformably overlain by the Nanaimo Group of rocks (Cretaceous). The Nanaimo Group is intruded by thick Tertiary dacite sills transected by the Moriarty Fault. The fault is a feeder zone and it is hydrothermally altered. This zone contains the main showing of sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite and tetrahedrite in ankerite-veined, intensely carbonated dacite at the base of a major sill.
