Much of the area is covered by glacial drift. The outcrops conform to the regionally mapped arenaceous, argillaceous and carbonaceous sedimentary rocks and greenstones of the Sylvester Group quartz veins and old workings expose pyrite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite and tetrahedrite mineralization.
