Geological Summary
The Kaslo area contains a complexly deformed group of sedimentary and volcanic rocks on the western flank of the Kootenay Arc (Cambrian to Triassic). From east to west they are crystalline rocks of the Lardeau Group, sedimenary rocks of the Milford Group, volcanic rocks of the Kaslo Group and sedimentary rocks of the Slocan Group. These rocks are intruded by granitic rocks of the Nelson batholith (Jurassic to Cretaceous).
