Geological Summary

Underlying bedrock consists of a sequence of quartzites, schists and calcareous rocks of probable Lower Paleozoic age. These are folded and cut by two sets of quartz veins, pyrite, minor pyrrhotite, gold and scheelite occur in graphitic schist wallrock adjacent to the quartz veins.
