Geological Summary
The Lightning Creek Anticlinorium consists of intensely folded schistose rocks of the Kaza Group and phyllites, quartzites and carbonates of the Cariboo Group (Proterozoic to Cambrian). Intrusive rocks are rare. Sphalerite, galena, scheelite and pyrite with precious metals occur in massive pyritic bodies and quartz veins within sericite quartzite of the Snowshoe Formation, and phyllitic rocks of the Midas Formation.
