Geological Summary |
THE RAINBOW GROUP COVERS A RUSTY ZONE OF SILICEOUS IRON CARBONATE, QUARTZ AND CHALCEDONIC QUARTZ VEINS. THE RUSTY ZONE IS AN IRREGULAR BODY OF SERPENTINE ALTERED TO IRON CARBONATE AND SILICA WHICH TRENDS NORTHWEST. THE GEOLOGY IS COMPLICATED BY MANY INTRUSIONS AND NORTHEASTERLY TRENDING FAULTS. A GOLD-SILVER DEPOSIT OCCURS WHERE THERE IS A PARTICULARLY INTENSE SHEARING AND LATE FAULTING OF THE SILICIFIED CARBONATED SERPENTINE.
