PYRITE WITH MINOR CHALCOPYRITE, SPHALERITE AND GALENA OCCUR ALONG SHEAR ZONES IN PHYLLITE AND QUARTZ SERICITE AND CHLORITE SCHIST UNITS OF THE HURLEY FORMATION. A QUARTZ EYE RHYOLITE UNIT IS WEAKLY PYRITIC. MINERALIZATION IS EXPOSED ON THE FLOOR OF A CIRQUE AT 2100 METER ELEVATION. THE METAMORPHOSED HURLEY FORMATION IS INTRUDED BY COAST INTRUSIVE COMPLEX QUARTZ DIORITE AND GRANO- DIORITE.
