Geological Summary
Karmutsen Formation (Triassic) basaltic and andesitic flow rocks are intruded by a dyke of quartz diorite porphyry adjacent to overlying thin-bedded Quatsino limestone. Northerly striking, steeply westerly dipping sheared andesite contains pods of massive sulphides comprised of pyrite, chalcopyrite and bornite. To the south, pyrite, chalcopyrite and bornite occur in amygdules within massive basalt flow rocks.
