ULTRAMAFIC AND DEEP MARINE SEDIMENTARY AND VOLCAN- IC ROCKS OF THE NINA GROUP ARE CUT BY MAJOR FAULTS AND SHOW INTENSE QUARTZ-CARBONATE ALTERATION. THE ALTERATION ZONES ARE LOCALLY MINERALIZED WITH TETRAHEDRITE, CHALCOPYRITE, MALACHITE, AZURITE AND FREE GOLD. SERPENTINIZED ROCKS CONTAIN DISSEIMINA- TED PYRRHOTITE, AND ASBESTOS.
