THE AREA IS UNDERLAIN BY MASSIVE CRYSTALLINE LIMESTONE CHERT AND PHYLLITE OF THE CACHE CREEK GROUP; AUGITE PORPHYRY, ANDESITIC TUFFS, BRECCIAS, GREYWACKES AND LIMESTONES OF THE TAKLA GROUP (UPPER TRIASSIC-JURASSIC); AND (CRETACEOUS OR TERTIARY) CHERT PEBBLE CONGLOMERATES AND SAND- STONES THAT ARE ALL SEPARATED BY FAULTS BELONGING TO THE PINCHI FAULT SYSTEM. SEVERAL MERCURY GEOCHEMICAL ANOMALIES ARE RELATED TO KNOWN MINERALIZATION.
