SELECTED GRAB SAMPLES OF VEIN MATERIAL ASSAYED UP TO 70.10 GRAMS/TONNE GOLD, 114.84 GRAMS/TONNE SILVER, 7.20 PERCENT ZINC, 6.10 PERCENT ARSENIC, 0.6 PERCENT COPPER, 0.07 PERCENT LEAD. THE PRO- PERTY IS UNDERLAIN BY A SEQUENCE OF UPPER TRIASSIC KARMUTSEN MAFIC VOLCANICS WHICH ARE UNCONFORMABLY OVERLAIN BY UPPER CRETACEOUS SANDSTONES AND SILT- STONES OF THE NANAIMO GROUP. THE SUCCESSION IS INTRUDED BY TERTIARY DACITE PORPHYRIES. MINERALI- ZED VEINS CONTAINING PYRITE, ARSENOPYRITE, SPHAL- ERITE AND CHALCOPYRITE OCCUR IN BOTH THE KARMUTSEN AND NANAIMO ROCKS.
