THE CLAIMS ARE UNDERLAIN BY UPPER TRIASSIC-LOWER JURASSIC TAKLA GROUP ANDESITIC VOLCANIC ROCKS CONSISTING OF AUGITE PORPHYRY FLOWS, TUFFS AND BRECCIAS. SEDIMENTARY UNITS ARE INTERCALATED WITH THE VOLCANIC ROCKS AND CONSIST OF BLACK ARGILLITE, GREYWACKE AND SILTSTONE. ROCKS GENERALLY STRIKE SOUTHEAST AND DIP STEEPLY EAST. ANDESITE AND DIORITE CROSSCUT VOLCANIC ROCKS. TWO WEAKLY PYRITIC CARBONATE ALTERATION ZONES OCCUR NEAR THE CONTACT OF DIORITE OR LEUCOCRATIC FELDSPAR PORPHYRY DYKES. GEOCHEMICAL RESULTS ARE LOW.
