Geological Summary
FOLDED, FAULTED, AND METAMORPHOSED SEDIMENTARY AND INTERMEDIATE VOLCANIC ROCKS OF THE (MISSISSIPPIAN?) EAGLE BAY FORMATION UNDERLIE THE REG CLAIMS. METAMORPHIC GRADE IN THE ROCKS IS FROM LOWER GREENSCHIST TO QUARTZ-MUSCOVITE FACIES. AN OVERTURNED ANTICLINE WITH SOUTHERLY DIPPING LIMBS IS PRESENT IN THE CENTRAL CLAIM AREA. THRUST FAULTING AND SUBSEQUENT NORMAL AND/OR TRANSVERSE FAULTING FURTHER COMPLICATE THE GEOLOGY. DISSEMINATED CHALCOPYRITE, PYRITE, PYRRHOTITE AND MINOR MAGNETITE OCCUR IN ANDESITE AND ALTERED ARGILLITE. ANOMALOUS COPPER, LEAD, ARSENIC, ZINC, SILVER AND GOLD VALUES IN ROCK SAMPLES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE MINERALIZED ZONES.
