A SERIES OF QUARTZ VEINS AND PARALLEL SYENITE PORPHYRY DIKES STRIKING NORTHWEST AND DIPPING SOUTHWEST OCCUR IN ARGILLITIC SHALE OF DEASE SERIES (PALEOZOIC AGE). THESE VEINS AND DYKES LIE UPSTREAM FROM OLD PLACER WORKINGS ON 2 MILE CREEK. MASSIVE SERPENTINE ALTERATION APPEARS IN A SHALE HOST EXTENSIVELY IN SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF PR 2 AND PR 3. TRACE VALUES OF GOLD AND PLATINUM OCCUR IN PAN SAMPLES FROM GLACIAL MORAINES.
