THE COTTON CLAIM LIES WITHIN THE SHUSWAP META- MORPHIC COMPLEX ON THE WESTERN FLANK OF THE FRENCHMAN'S CAP GNEISS DOME. THE SULPHIDE LAYER CONSISTS OF GALENA, SPHALERITE AND MAGNETITE. IT LIES ABOUT 30 METERS EAST OF TWO PROMINENT CARBONATE HORIZONS; (1) A GREY-WEATHERING WHITE MARBLE AND (2) A RUSTY-WEATHERING BROWN CARBONA- TITE. THE MINERALIZATION DIPS 35-45 DEGREES SOUTH- WEST. WIDTHS FROM VERY THIN TO OVER 2 METERS.
