Geological Summary
QUARTZITES, MICA SCHISTS AND MINOR LIMESTONES OF THE CARBONIFEROUS KOBAU GROUP ARE INTRUDED BY CRETACEOUS GRANITIC PLUTONS OF THE NELSON PLUTONIC GROUP. NORTHEASTERLY TRENDING, VERTICAL QUARTZ VEINS AND QUARTZ VEIN STOCKWORKS FOUND ON THE PROPERTY WERE SAMPLED, WHICH, ALONG WITH THE EXTENSIVE SOIL SAMPLES, FAILED TO INDICATE A FAVOURABLE GOLD ENVIRONMENT. THE VLF-ELECTROMAG- NETIC SURVEY INDICATED AN ELECTROMAGNETIC CONDUC- TOR, BUT NO COINCIDENTAL GEOCHEMICAL ANOMALY OR SIGNIFICANT GOLD ASSAYS WERE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONDUCTOR.
