Geological Summary
THE SUMMIT GROUP OF CLAIMS ARE MOSTLY UNDERLAIN BY ARGILLITE, SLATE, AND PHYLLITE OF THE YMIR GROUP. THE ORE DEPOSITS OF THE YMIR GOLD-SILVER CAMP OCCUR MAINLY IN FISSURE TYPE QUARTZ VEINS. LOCALLY THE BEST ORE IS GENERALLY OBTAINED WHERE THE WALL- ROCK OF SUCH VEINS IS GRANITIC RATHER THAN SEDI- MENTARY. SUCH CONDITIONS ARE THOUGHT TO OCCUR ON THE SUMMIT CLAIM GROUP WHERE THE VEINS MAY INTER- SECT TONGUES OF GRANITE.
