THE CLAIMS ARE UNDERLAIN BY LOWER CAMBRIAN OR HADRYNIAN ROCKS OF THE SPAPILEM CREEK-DEADFALL CREEK SUCCESSION DESCRIBED AS MAINLY QUARTZITIC WITH LESSER SCHIST, PHYLLITE AND AMPHIBOLITE, AND LATE DEVONIAN AGE GNEISSES. ROCKS OBSERVED ARE MAINLY FELDSPATHIC GNEISSES INTRUDED BY QUARTZ-DIORITE AND MINOR MONZONITE. PYRITE- CHALCOPYRITE MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN THE GNEISSES CLOSE TO DIORITE CONTACTS.
