METASEDIMENTARY ROCKS THAT DIP 45 DEGREES NORTH- EASTERLY ARE CUT BY THE "MAIN SMITH VEIN" THAT DIPS 65 DEGREES SOUTHWESTERLY. THE QUARTZ VEIN SWELLS TO SEVERAL METRES IN WIDTH AND IS MINERAL- IZED WITH AURIFEROUS PYRITE, CHALCOPYRITE AND MALACHITE. THIS IS PROBABLY THE SAME SHOWING AS SMITH AND NASH DESCRIBED IN ASSESSMENT REPORT 8834 WHICH PREVIOUS WORKERS HAVE PLOTTED TO THE WEST.
