MID-MESOZOIC ARGILLACEOUS QUARTZITES OF THE YMIR GROUP ARE INTRUDED BY EARLY UPPER JURASSIC NELSON BATHOLITH. QUARTZ VEINS HOST SHOOTS OF GOLD-BEAR- ING MATERIAL, WITH OR WITHOUT SULPHIDES. SMALL PRODUCTION HAS BEEN ATTAINED FROM ONE NARROW QUARTZ VEIN. A SHAFT INTERSECTED A LENS OF MASSIVE PYRRHOTITE AND LESSER AMOUNTS OF SPHALER- ITE, GALENA, CHALCOPYRITE, MARCASITE, PYRITE, LIMONITE AND HEMATITE. THE POTENTIAL OF THE DEPOSIT IS LIMITED.
