Geological Summary
A number of quartz veins less than 1 metre wide are exposed in the central portion of the Gamma Claim in a sequence of pyroclastic andesites and black shales which are intruded by fragmental feldspar porphyry. The volcanics belong to the Lower Jurassic Unuk River Formation. The feldspar porphyry is probably part of an Eocene stock. Good to exceptionally high silver values and modest gold values have been obtained from the quartz-sulphide veins. Mineralization noted includes tetrahedrite, galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, malachite and azurite.
