Geological Summary |
Quartz diorite and granite of the Island Intrusions are most abundant on the eastern area of the claim. Where shearing is evident, this rock is moderately altered with epidote and chlorite. Volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation are the most common within the claim. The rocks are affected by north and westerly directed shear and fault zones. Masses of pyrite, chalcopyrite, and some bornite were the most commonly noted minerals.
