Geological Summary |
A northerly trending belt of volcanics and sediments of Jurassic age are underlain and cut by granitic plutons of the Nelson Batholith. The trend of flows is from north to northeast with dips steeply to the west. Fissures within the sediments and flows follow the regional pattern but within the granites have an east-west to northeast trend. Gold and silver mineralization associated with base metals, particularly zinc and lead, is contained within pyritic quartz-filled fissures.
