Geological Summary
The area is underlain by gently dipping, north to northeast striking Cretaceous and Tertiary volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks. The rocks range in composition from rhyolite to basalt. Alteration and mineralization appears to be related to hot spring formations and is characterized by botryoidal chalcedonic quartz.
