Geological Summary
Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation volcanics and Jurassic Island Intrusions occur in fault slices and rafts. Predominant east-west faults cut the rocks but many north-south faults exist as well. Fault zones are the loci of quartz-carbonate veins which host pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena and gold mineralization. Veining ranges from 1-90 centimetres wide and is associated with argillic and epidote alteration.
