The property consists of Cambrian black shale, green phyllite and limestone on its east half and Ordovician-Mississippian black slate, argillite and cherty argillite, black limestone and silicified limestone on the west. Isolated outcrops of Upper Silurian-Lower Devonian chert breccia occur on the Tinsdale 1 claim.
