Geological Summary
The area of interest is underlain by rocks of the Stewart Complex, a belt of diverse rock types and complicated structure. The belt trends northwest between the Coast Plutonic Complex to the west and the Bowser sedimentary basin to the east. Rocks of the Stewart Complex were emplaced in Triassic-Jurassic times during repeated cycles of volcanism, sedimentation, plutonism, uplift and erosion.
