Geological Summary
Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation basalts with thin units of limestone are intruded by or faulted against quartz diorites of the Jurassic Island Intrusions. Skarn development in limestone has produced small (1-5 centimetre) sections of magnetite-chalcopyrite mineralization. Shears and contacts produce thin (<50 centimetres) zones of quartz or carbonate veins with pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization.
