The claims are underlain by steep southerly dipping siltstones and argillites of the Devonian-Permian Fennell Formation which have been intruded by Cretaceous Raft Batholith granodiorite. The sediments host local occurrences of up to 10 per cent disseminated pyrite and trace chalcopyrite.
