Geological Summary
The claim is located at the contact zone between intrusive rocks of the Upper Cretaceous Coast Plutonic Complex and metavolcanics of the Middle Jurassic Hazelton Group. The host structure is an easterly dipping, northeasterly trending quartz vein of an average width of 0.35 metres. Coarsely disseminated cubic pyrite often composes up to 20 per cent of the vein and is always associated with the higher gold values. Alteration is moderate, with epidote and sericite flooding associated with the vein contact areas. The vein is thought to be following a fault gouge of an average width of 0.2 metres.
