Geological Summary
The underlying rocks consist of Upper Cretaceous Kingsvale massive green, gray or buff andesite and purple or dark brown basalt. The younger Eocene volcanics consist mainly of creamy rhyolitic and dacitic tuff. Some andesitic and basaltic rocks also occur as well as polymictic breccia with volcanic arenite. Precious metals occur in epithermal brecciated quartz-carbonate veins. The veins contain pyrite, chalcopyrite and minor sphalerite or arsenopryrite. The veins generally strike worth and dip 54 degrees west to 40 degrees east.
