Geological Summary
Native gold and bornite mineralization occurs along fractures, foliation surfaces and in quartz veins associated with hornblende gneiss and biotite and muscovite schist in an inlier of Proterozoic Horsethief Creek Group rocks which occur within the Malton Gneiss. Regional structure is an isoclinally folded sequence of complex origin. Locally the strata dips 20 to 40 degrees to the south and strikes easterly over an extensive area.
