The property is underlain by quartz diorite of the Upper Cretaceous Coast Plutonic Complex and by metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks. Petrographic analysis identified spotted andalusite-biotite hornfels, pyrrhotite-biotite hornfels and hornfelsed amygdaloidal andesite. Mineralization consists of minor pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite. Small amounts of rare-earth bearing phosphate of Upper Jurassic-Early Cretaceous age is evident from SEM analysis.
