| Geological Summary |
The underlying rocks are mainly metasedimentary of the Cache Creek Formation divided into, from the oldest, phyllite, quartz arenite, and interbedded quartzite and derived orthoclase schist and calcareous black shale. These are intruded by diorite and granodiorite of the Upper Cretaceous Germansen Batholith. Structure consists of overturned folds with faults usually near the axial planes.
