Geological Summary
Underlain chiefly by Bonanza volcanics of Lower Jurassic age, massive to poorly bedded tuffs, breccias, and flows varying from andesite to rhyodacite. Upper Triassic Quatsino limestone and Karmutsen volcanics outcrop to the north along the Little Nitinat River. All are cut by quartz diorite of the Island intrusives.
