The Hazelton Group rocks are mapped as andesite tuff, lapilli breccia with hamatitic matrix lapilli tuffs, felsic tuff and breccia. Black slate and argillite of the Bowser Group is exposed on Slate Mountain. Microdiorite dykes (Tertiary?) cut the Bowser Group.
