Geological Summary
Karmutsen basic volcanic flow rocks and greenstones are overlain by massive grey Kunga limestone on the west and by flaggy black limestones, thin-bedded limestones and limy argillites of the Upper Kunga Formation. Tertiary dykes, leucocratic rhyolites or dacites, with up to 5 % pyrite-pyrrhotite, cut the sedimentary rocks. Fault zones trend northeasterly.
