Underlain by red and green fragmental volcanic rocks of the Hazelton Group (Jurassic). A local rhyolitic breccia unit has been silicified, and impregnated with pyrite, galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite. These rocks are overlain by Bowser (Jurassic) shale, cherty siltstone and argillite.
