Geological Summary
The Karmutsen (Triassic) pillow and amygdaloidal basalts with interflow sedimentary rocks are partly overlain by the Kunga (Triassic) argillite and limestone, Yakoun (Jurassic) andesite tuff and agglomerate and Masset (Tertiary) rhyolite flows, quartz feldspar porphyry, gabbro intrusions and a dacite porphyry plug. The rocks are altered, fractured and faulted. Visible gold, pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and malachite occur in veins.
