Geological Summary |
Rocks of the Atan Formation (Cambrian), Road River Formation (Silurian-Ordovician), sandy dolomite (Lower Devonian), laminated and massive, fetid dolomite (Middle Devonian), blue-grey limestone (Upper Devonian) and Lower Sylvester Formation (Mississippian) black mudstone-siltstone are cut by numerous mafic, phaneritic dykes containing abundant magnetite. Gossanous areas are caused by weathering of disseminated pyrrhotite.
