There are currently two irrigation intakes and one pump station within Pritchard Provincial Park that withdraw water from the South Thompson River and convey it to the property adjacent to the Park. The water licences for this system show water use dating back to the 1950’s, preceding the creation of the Park (1997). The owners wish to establish a permit for the existing works, which should have been created prior to establishing the Park. The owners also wish to maintain and upgrade these components and install a second pump station in order to increase the area of irrigated land on their property. A water licence application for the increased water use has been submitted.
