1) Long term Seabird Contaminant Monitoring - To track levels and trends of persistent pollutants in the marine environment of Canada’s Pacific coast using select seabird sentinel species. 2) Tracking Seabird Movements - To collect data on individual breeding foraging movements and wintering grounds of storm petrels using geolocator (GLS) and geopositioning (GPS) loggers to delineate marine habitats of importance over their annual cycle. 3) Contaminant Sources in Marine Birds - To link Storm-petrel GLS location and contaminant data to their non-breeding grounds and to examine the relative contributions of distant vs. local sources on contaminant levels.
