The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure plans to undertake the replacement of two bridges on Highway 16 between Port Clements and Tlell. The Gold Creek Bridge and Geikie Creek No. 1 Bridge. Gold Creek: Proposed work outside of the right of way will be approximately 1-2 metres over the boundary of the park. Upon completion of the bridge installation, the area will be graded and seeded with the native species seed mix. Geikie Creek No. 1: The Construction Contractor will be clearing and grubbing the area, stripping off organic material, placing non-woven geotextile on top of the prepped ground, and then placing the shotrock fill. When the ground has settled to the desired elevation, the Contractor will remove the shotrock fill and non-woven geotextile, and continue the work necessary for the Geikie #1 Bridge Replacement, and remediating the land outside of highway right of way (2 metres at the widest point) to existing conditions (back-sloped, graded, and re-seeded.) Any cleared trees will be replanted.
