This application was requested by Darin Welch, BC Parks Area Supervisor - East Kootenay North as per the attached letter with this application. This specific application is for an existing dock on Whiteswan Lake for the private property owner, and for an extension to the existing dock (proposed 8.6 m extension) given that Whiteswan Lake has seasonally fluctuating water levels, indicating a varying natural boundary. The original walkway was first built in 1970, with upgrades in 1995, and periodic maintenance to preserve the integrity of the structure. Four floating docks (purchased from the Province of British Columbia and the Dock Company) were added to the first dock. In total, there is one long dock, consisting of the five portions, purchased, and installed over time, oriented at a right angle to the shoreline.
