Construction and occupancy of a fibre optic cable. The fibre optic cable will service the Egg Island Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) lighthouse station. Reliable, high speed communication will allow the CCG to provide emergency response services more efficiently and ultimately improve the safety of mariners and the protection of the environment. The submarine fibre optic cable will enter the Conservancy north of Egg Island, land on Egg Island and exit south of Egg Island. The 1.35 cm wide fibre optic cable will lay on the seabed surface and will be armoured with 81 mm diameter iron split pipe in the shallow subtidal and foreshore areas.
