Installation and occupancy of a fibre optic cable through the Marble River Provincial Park that will provide reliable, high speed telecom services to three communities east of Quatsino Narrows (Holberg, Coal Harbour and Quatsino First Nations IR Subdivision 18). Passage through Marble River Provincial Park (via Quatsino Narrows) is required in order to service these communities. Connectivity to these communities will improve their ability to operate recreational and eco tourism businesses that utilize the Park. The submarine fibre optic cable will extend for 2.3 km within the marine portion of the Park. The fibre optic cable (1.35 cm ) will lie on the seabed surface.
