Summary of Activity:
Gitksan Watershed Authorities would like to install an autonomous camera salmon counting fence on Stephens Creek. The main purpose of your research activities is to support an environmental assessment on salmon under the support of wilp Geel and Fisheries and Oceans Canada to enumerate sockeye and coho salmon migrating upstream of the fence.
The autonomous camera fence does not inhibit fish passage and no handling is involved. The solar and battery system will remain in place but the fence structure will be removed after the proposed period of use (Jun - October) and stored neatly beside the power structure. The goal is to operate this system for a minimum of 5 years.
