Term:
5 years
Summary of Activity:
Permanent engineered geohazard remediation works are proposed within the Coquihalla River Park, along and adjacent to the Trans Mountain Pipeline (TMPL) at kilometre point 992.8. 2021 flood events resulted in bank erosion and gravel deposition which caused significant river realignment in the subject area. The design includes construction of a permanent bank revetment on the right bank of the Coquihalla River to provide erosion protection and a realignment channel along the left bank to partially deflect high flows and energy. The works are required to prevent further erosion of park land and to protect park values by reducing the risks associated with pipeline exposure within the park.
