In order to understand the evolution of Helmcken Falls and the associated canyon updating of the work of C.J. Hickson (PhD 1987) is necessary. Collection of rock samples for radiogenic dating and geochemistry, field surveys along the Murtle River and the west arm of Murtle Lake. If funding for LiDAR can be obtained, this would be hugely helpful in sorting out the post glacial history of the river and canyon.
