The purpose of this permit is to allow Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation-led archaeological research throughout their traditional territory. This research will provide insight into traditional land use, subsistence practices, and the cultural history of the Mowachaht/Muchalaht People. Methods will include pedestrian field survey, tree increment coring, and subsurface excavation.
